Hello hello, and welcome to Episode 120 of Life On the Brink!
We're back again with another installment of the Movie Night series, this time in a celebration of cooking, food, and the gathering that happens around it. I'm once again joined by my sister Sarah as we discuss our favorite "foodie" movies and how a movie night can be an extension of the onscreen meals. So fun, and perfect for this time of year!

We have quite a bit in common, mostly that we agree on a lot of our favorite movies and that we love a theme, so we always have a ton of fun when we have these chats.
What’s in my teacup? The Trader Joe's Harvest Herbal tea
The Clear Winner: Ratatouille
Let me take the opportunity to mention that I've shared my personal ratatouille recipe here on the blog. This is also my favorite movie ever, so the post has a lot of that as well.

SOME FOODIE MOMENTS WE MENTIONED:
Sarah’s Little Joy: She shared a recipe (apt for today) for a corn salad/salsa?? that was apparently more than the sum of its parts. She had it on tacos and said it's revolutionary. The recipe is below!
Mexican Corn Salad
Servings: 6 to 8
Preparation Time:
15 minutes
Chilling Time:
2 hours
4 cups frozen corn kernels, thawed
1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed
½ cup chopped green onions
½ cup chopped red bell pepper
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 cup salsa
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Combine the vegetables in a bowl. Place the salsa and vinegar in a blender jar and process until smooth. Pour over the vegetables and mix well. Refrigerate to blend the flavors.
Recipe Hint: To make this even spicier, add several dashes of Tabasco sauce when mixing the dressing into the vegetables.
What I’m Listening To: I’ve made a playlist composed of tunes from the movies we mentioned in this episode, and I’ve kept it pretty light and fun so it’s perfect for cooking!
Thank you so much for listening! Feel free to leave a comment, or head to Apple Podcasts to leave a star rating or review. If you have any suggestions for future episodes, send an email in the contact form on this site. I’d love to hear from you, and I'll be back in two weeks!
